What to Expect in Worship at Community UCC

Please join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10am.
When you come to a Sunday morning worship service, expect to be greeted warmly as you arrive. There’s parking in our upper or lower parking lots, and you can come in through the doors or wheelchair ramp on the upper side. You’ll be most comfortable in casual or dress-casual clothes, but please don’t worry too much about what to wear. We care about you and not your clothing.

Children are a vital part of who we are as a faith community. We welcome their presence in the life of the church and in our worship service. God put the wiggle in children; don’t feel you have to suppress it here. During the service, we have a special time with children and offer activity bags and children's bibles to welcome children into worship. We encourage participating with enthusiasm as children learn by behavior by copying you. Children are welcome to participate in communion or receive a blessing. When necessary, families may make use of our lower-level nursery during Sunday worship.

Our worship includes songs of praise to God, Scripture readings, a sermon or reflection, prayers of the congregation, choir songs, an offering of gifts to God, and time for silent prayer. We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month. All are welcome to receive the juice and bread (including a gluten-free option) at the table of Christ’s love.

Most folks stay to enjoy refreshments and conversation following the service in the sanctuary.
